Global Fund Tax Manager Miejsce pracy: Warszawa Your responsibilities Reviews capital gains tax and withholding tax accounting, reporting and compliance tasks in line with regulations of respective jurisdiction and internal policies. Identifies relevant tax law changes in relation for capital gains and withholding taxes in the global markets where Franklin Templeton funds make portfolio investments, analyzes impacts and works with appropriate stakeholders, communicating with internal business partners on tax law changes and issues. Acts as subject matter expert on global capital gains tax and withholding tax, represents Fund Tax in cross-divisional projects and leads department-level projects. Active engagement in industry associations in relation to tax matters. Develops, updates, and monitors key internal policies and procedures. Proactively identifies and evaluates areas of risk. Evaluates risk events and recommends or implements corrective actions for control deficiencies. Contributes suggestions to improve the control environment and manage risks. Manages the department’s execution of a risk-based oversight model of third-party administrators, custodians, and tax service providers. Reviews and approves tax reporting and compliance filings prepared by third-party administrators, or tax service providers to ensure disclosures compliance with regulations of respective jurisdiction and internal policies. Leads research and analyses tax requirements resulting from new regulation, new instruments, product types or jurisdictions. Represents Fund Tax in divisional technical committees and is the technical expert for their designated jurisdictions and funds. Guides department in identifying and implementing potential improvements in processes leveraging digital tools. Acts as Fund Tax lead on change and business development Provides cross-training and promotes knowledge sharing among global Fund Tax teams. Assists with onboarding and mentoring of new team members. Our requirements A degree in accounting, law, taxation, OR other undergraduate degree together with relevant accounting, legal or tax experience (required). Tax experience in a public accounting firm or in an industry position, with exposure to taxation of investment funds, securities, and transactions (advantageous). Certification as an attorney (e.g. member of applicable bar), as a public accountant (e.g. CA / CPA), or a similar local tax, accountancy or legal qualification (advantageous). Strong ability to manage multiple activities, resources, projects, and responsibilities. Strong project management skills to ensure timely and successful execution of tax projects. Strong technical research, analysis and writing skills with a demonstrated ability to present complex tax issues in a succinct and understandable manner to senior leaders and key business partners. Strong ability to collaborate with business partners. Strong ability to analyze complex business and tax issues, and to develop, recommend and implement appropriate policies and solutions. Strong ability to interact across the organization with managers, directors, Treasurers, and VPs within operations, and internal clients including portfolio managers and Product Development. Strong ability to build relationships and clear lines of communication with the key individuals within the tax accounting functions within the TPA and tax advisory firms. Strong ability to exert influence within the organization and with TPAs and tax service providers to ensure appropriate solutions and implemented. They will assess, develop, and execute a risk-based oversight model related to tax services provided by third party providers and review tax compliance and reporting deliverables prepared by the funds’ accounting agents and tax service providers. They will act as a subject matter expert in relation to global capital gains taxes and withholding taxes, acting as an advisor to business partners on complex tax matters and regulatory changes.
