Global Category Manager - Human Resources

Life Unlimited.At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living!We're currently looking for an experienced indirect category manager with experience partnering with HR functions like HR Services or Global Rewards.The role will see you partner with strategic HR leaders, working with them to maintain and build value in our respective categories. This could be achieved through the sourcing of new suppliers, driving competition and quality, performance managing our current suppliers better, process management or better demand planning. Through these partnerships we need to move the needle from reactive supplier management to proactive, ensuring that value remains at the core of what we do.What will you be doing? You will have responsibility for the spend, strategic plan and leadership across our Human Resources category. The role will mean someone can sit between HR and our suppliers in the category to ensure we have the appropriate frameworks and means to measure and performance manage our suppliers.It's critical that you're comfortable building on and taking ownership for strategic relationships internally and externally, by taking control of these relationships, over time we would expect to see opportunity to increase value in a number of ways, either by better demand planning, process and value management, not just by sourcing.What does success look like? Success in the role will be determined by increased value across the category, and improved relationships internally and externally. Ultimately we want to move towards something that is much more proactive, and will allow us to plan our demand better, deliver simpler and better processes and when needed source new suppliers that will further increase competition and deliver value.Successful candidates would need the following:Experience strategically managing a global category within a/multiple HR function(s)Experience delivering increased value across an indirect category through, sourcing, demand planning and process improvementAbility to build strong and meaningful relationships with key internal and external partnersYou.
