Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, obtain optimum price and service guarantees
• Complies with and ensures compliance with corporate policies
• Monitors and documents vendor performance
• Examines bids and makes awards
• Interacts with corporate purchasing department
• Maintains accurate, retrievable records
• Resolves purchase and service deficiencies; discusses defective or unacceptable goods/services with users, vendors, or quality control
• Coordinates purchasing with all departments.
• Consults to resolve specification and quality issues

Qualifications : Minimum

• 2-3+ years experience in a similar position
• At minimum High School Diploma, preferred Associate's or bachelor's degree in purchasing or a related field,
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of purchasing
• Knowledge of software programs, which may include MS Office, etc.

Preferred

• Experience with SAP/certification
• Background in performing a high level of material purchases
• 2-4 year college degree in business or related field
• Knowledge and prior use of Supply Chain Logistic Concepts
